There is a spiritual dynamic in motion when we sacrifice our time, energy and money to serve God. Although receiving blessing is not our motivation to serve, when we make the commitment to give we do find ourselves being blessed and growing in our faith. Nowhere is this dynamic more apparent than when we serve in a culture which is significantly different to our own.

Sri Lanka
Through our team visits to Sri Lanka, we have had our paradigms rocked and our faith challenged, as we have served and built relationships with people who, materially, have nothing in comparison to us, but who have a vibrant and contagious living hope. As a church community that was impacted by the devastation that was caused by the Tsunami in December 2004, we decided to explore building long term relationships with a church in Sri Lanka.

  • In January 2006 this journey led us to connect to Pastor Sanna who leads New Life Community Church in the capital Colombo. Sanna's church played a big part in distributing aid to local families affected by this tragic event.
  • As this relationship has grown, we have taken teams out each year to spend time developing friendships, supporting church leaders, and working with New Life Church on various projects.

In 2009, we connected with two Vineyard churches in the U.S. who currently support three small Vineyard churches in Sri Lanka whom we also visited. We are currently exploring  joining together as the Sri Lanka Partnership, and are looking forward to visiting the Vineyards in Sri Lanka, and helping them to grow and develop over the coming years.
