Pastoral Care at Vineyard Church Sutton

picCaring for one another is a notable feature of church life in VCS and we trust that the relaxed, warm welcome we endeavour to give is appreciated by those who visit us.

Pastoral Care is first and foremost an attitude of care for each other which is the responsibility of every church member. In VCS, small groups are the primary means through which members can provide mutual support.

Pastoral care in VCS includes:

Small Groups

  • Prayer, ministry. Listening and support
  • Personal Prayer Ministry (PPM)
  • Marriage preparation and enrichment Courses
  • Parenting Classes
  • Money Management and Debt Counselling
  • Pastoral Care Courses

Small groups encourage care and mutual support for VCS members. Being part of a small group and getting to know each other helps extend care in the church. They are places where we can be known, know others and receive prayer and support as part of a loving community. When an immediate or ongoing problem goes beyond the resource of a small group, the small group leader may seek assistance from their cluster group leader or a member of pastoral staff. Together they can determine the most appropriate form of pastoral care for the individual.

If you wish to be linked to a small group ,even if you are unable to attend regularly, please visit the Welcome Area on a Sunday Morning or contact the church office.

Welcoming New People

We hope that new people attending VCS will enjoy a warm and friendly welcome each Sunday. If you are new to the church please assist us in getting to know you by completinga Welcome Card on a Sunday, and introduce yourself to someone at the Welcome Desk. Every month or so the church also holds Newcomers Meals to which you are most welcome and where you can meet  some of the Pastoral staff.

Prayer and Prayer Ministry

After each service there is an opportunity to be prayed for. We also have a  prayer email group for urgent prayer needs. If you wish an issue to be circulated for prayer please contact the church office.

We also provide Personal Prayer Ministry where we offer you the opportunity to receive short-term ministry ,through prayer and biblical counsel ,by trained teams over a number of weeks. Sessions are available to those who consider Vineyard Church Sutton their church and attend a small group on a regular basis.
